Pastoral Council – acts in a consultative and advisory capacity to the Pastor. They strive to assist in promoting the pastoral needs of the parish community and mission of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. The Pastor presides over the council and listens in order to give serious consideration to the recommendations made to foster better parochial community life. Meetings are held every other month (October-June). Parishioners may nominate other parishioners or self nominate.
Finance Council – The Parish Finance Council consists of qualified parishioners, appointed by the Pastor, who are credentialed in various aspects of parochial financial management. The Finance Council provides the Pastor with advice and assistance in administering the temporal goods of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. The council assists the Pastor with the annual budget of income and expenditures, prepares the annual report on the budget for the Diocesan Finance Council, renders a yearly account to the Parish Council and parishioners on the fiscal aspects of parish life and advises on the particular matters of financial administration required. Parishioners who have expertise in financial areas are welcome to submit their names for positions on this council.
Preventive Maintenance – The Preventive Maintenance Committee is responsible for the routine inspection of the parish property and facilities. It advises the Pastor and the Pastoral Council of existing conditions and needs. The Preventive Maintenance Ministry makes recommendations to the Pastor concerning needed improvements and/or repairs. The committee reviews and oversees all capital projects
St. Joseph the Worker Guild – The Guild serves as a group in the parish to plan and execute various parish projects throughout the year, including the Christmas Bazaar and other events that emerge throughout the year. The Guild will meet one evening per quarter.
Office Volunteers – St. Joseph the Worker Parish is dependent on the men and women who are available throughout the day (and/or some evenings) to volunteer assistance in our administration office. Volunteers do a variety of functions such as light office work, counting the collection, answering the phone and door, and various other tasks. Volunteers provide assistance based on their availability when specific needs arise. This is a wonderful ministry for retired men and women with secretarial and/or management experience.
Gardening Ministry – Assist with the landscaping of our parish grounds on a seasonal basis. The Adopt a Garden ministry allows individuals or families to adopt one of the gardens on the Church grounds. Ministry includes some weeding, planting and maintenance throughout the year. This is a nice family ministry.
